What they are?
Scholarships, aimed at university students, undergraduates, graduates and researchers, provide the opportunity to improve their education. They are provided by the State or by private organizations, companies, etc..
Scholarships, research fellowships, graduate scholar awards support the students, from an economic point of view, on their studies or training.
Scholarships may be classified as:
- Diritto agli studi: This is financial aid for which the student and family’s financial situation is a primary factor. Such scholarships cover all or part of tuition and perhaps living costs.
- Incentive scholarship: announced in universities where there are few students compared with the places available. The scholarships are assigned by competitions.
- Scholarship for post graduate courses: Aimed at graduated students that apply for PhD or specializations schools.
- Scholarship for PhD students: aimed at graduated students that work in scientific research field with income not exceeding 7000 €.
- Scholarship of specialization: aimed at students enrolled in courses of specialization and post-graduation. They are awarded by universities on the basis of merit ranking
- Scholarship for post doc: announced by rectorate and aimed to deepen research.
- Scholarship for research fellowship: announced by business institution. They gave to students the opportunity to work in research field.
